Joseph Henry Dittmer was born to William and Frieda (Fangmeyer) Dittmer, on May 16, 1933. He became a child of God through the Sacrament of Holy Baptism on June 4, 1933 by the Rev. Lentz of St. John's Lutheran Church, Byron, Neb. After being instructed in the Word of God, he was confirmed in 1947 by the Rev. Krause. His confirmation verse was John 3:16, "For God so loved the world, he gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish but have everlasting life."
