Good Samaritan Society makes Forbes list of best mid-size employers

Forbes magazine named The Good Samaritan Society one of America’s Best Midsize Employers in 2022. Of the 500 midsize employers on Forbes’s nationally recognized list the society is the only senior services employer recognized.

Forbes asked 60,000 Americans working for businesses with 1,000 or more employees to nominate businesses (not their own). The final list ranks employers based on the number of recommendations received. The survey also asked how willing employees would be to recommend their own employers to friends and family.

The society prioritized employees throughout the pandemic by investing $15 million in direct care wages in 2021, three months of paid health premiums, a onetime bonus and PTO flexibility.

Nate Schema, president, had this to say about making the list, “I could not be prouder of our staff. We couldn’t do what we do without them. We have the tools to recruit skilled workers, strategies for retaining employees and we offer competitive benefits and wages. We are excited to welcome people who are called to the work of health, healing and comfort, and want to make a difference in seniors’ lives every day.”
