Challenge to benefit Superior Auditorium

The Superior Auditorium Committee is preparing to launch another fundraising drive titled “The Alumni and Friends Challenge” to benefit auditorium restoration. The restoration is moving closer to completion, especially with the installation of the heating and air conditioning system installed last May. The ability to heat and cool the space year-round has vastly increased rental demand for a variety of new events. Last year the committee launched the “The 30 in 30 Challenge” …to raise $30,000 in 30 days in order to claim a matching grant issued by an anonymous foundation. Donations of all sizes came in, fundraising events held and eventually the amount raised was slightly more than $50,000; well over the $30,000 needed to claim the match!

This year’s fundraiser “The Alumni and Friends Challenge,” was created at the request of a Superior alumnus to encourage other alumni to donate to the restoration. The alumnus has agreed to match all donations up to $30,000. Recent years have shown a willingness of these alumni and local supporters to be faithful donors to projects. Further details of the challenge will be provided in coming weeks as plans become more finalized.

The auditorium is owned and operated by a tax exempt 501c3…which means all donations are tax deductible to the donor. The group receives no taxes support to aide with restoration or operations. If supporters would like to donate, they should be written to “The Auditorium” and sent to PO Box 96, Superior, Neb. 68978. Donations of any size are greatly appreciated.
