Friday's format difficult for couples golf at ECCC

The thermometer was reading 97 degrees when The couples league teed off Friday evening in Nelson, but with the shade and nice breeze it was tolerable out on the Elk Creek Country Club golf course. Or, were the players just getting used to the heat? 

The play format made a rather tough round for everyone. Everyone teed off every time and then played alternating shots. The scores ranged from a 41 to a 63. Royce and Brenda Schott had an especially hard time on the par 5 No. 4, and had to take a 16 to go along with their high gross score of 63.  Ken and Jan Rempe had a low net score of 38.�...
