SHS football

The Superior High School football team enjoyed a bye week to rest and regroup. The team is still looking for the first win of the season. They host the Sandy Creek Cougars at Brodstone Memorial Field Friday with kickoff set for 7:30 p.m. This is a change from the normal kickoff time of 7 p.m.

Superior lost to Kenesaw 38-14, Friday, Sept 9, at Kenesaw.

Roscoe Baumbach returned a fumble recovery for a 70 yard touchdown. Cristian Avalos provided the point after touchdown. Aiden Humphries scored with a 67 yard run. Avalos kicked the extra point. Humphries completed three of his five pass attempts for two yards. James Love had a two yard reception.

Humphries picked up 86 yards and a touchdown with his 15 carries. Love gained 20 yards on seven carries. Kyler Boyles covered 14 yards on five carries. Jacob Meyer carried the ball four time for no gain.

Boyles collected nine solo tackles and 10 assisted tackles. Luke Jameson accounted for five solo tackles and 12 assisted tackles. Aaron Allgood posted four solo tackles and two assists. Baumbach nailed three solo tackle and tree assisted tackles. Jacob Meyer finished the game with two solo tackles and 14 assisted tackles. Love nailed a solo tackle and 14 assisted tackles. Seth Griljava was in with four assisted tackles. Henry Griljava had three assisted tackles. Tate Streit listed two solo tackles. Riedar Vier had an assisted tackle.
