Football season over for Superior

October 20, 2022

The Superior High Scholl football team concluded their 2022 season with a 40-12 loss to Sutton at Sutton Thursday. The loss left the Wildcats with a 1-7 record for the season. Inconsistency and injuries plagued the team over the course of the season.

Superior stayed close for the first two quarters, trailing 24-12 at the half. The inability to produce any offensive momentum led to a 40-12 loss.

For seniors Cristan Avalos, Owen Perrie, Aiden Humphries, Ej Uvslokk, Jacob Meyer, Aaron Allgood, Austin Roberts, James Love, Roscoe Baumbach, Riedar Vier, Henry Griljava and Tate Streit, it was bittersweet farewell to their high school careers.

The graduation of the seniors leaves nine underclassmen on the roster headed into next season.

Could there be further changes ahead for the Wildcat football program? Time will tell.

Game statistics were unavailable at press time.
