Sue Ellen Rose, the daughter of Homer and Emma (Engel) Hoff, was born June 21, 1946, At McCook. She died on Nov. 20, 2022, at the Sutton Community Home in Sutton where she had resided briefly at the age of 76 years, 4 months and 29 days.

Sue spent her early years in Wauneta, and graduated from the Wauneta Public Schools. She continued her formal education attending Kearney State College where she earned both her bachelor and master’s degrees. She was united in marriage with Jerry Rose on Nov. 30, 1973, in Superior.
