It was a rough opening round game for the Hershey Holiday Tournament for the Lawrence-Nelson High School girls basketball team as they fell 60-26 in a contest that was never close.

Hanna Skinner drives the ball up court as the Lawrence-Nelson Raiders competed at the Hershey Holiday Tournament Thursday and Friday.

The Doniphan-Trumbull Cardinals handed the Raiders a 48-30 loss, Friday, in the consolation round of the tournament. Lawrence-Nelson fell behind early and trailed 24-15 at the halfway mark. They were out scored 24-15 over the course of the third and fourth quarter to record their sixth loss of the season. The Raiders hosted McCool Junction at Nelson, Tuesday, with game results unavailable at press time. Statistics were unavailable for the Doniphan-Trumbull game.

Katelyn Mazour led the Raider scoring against Hershey with nine points. Jessica Sole accounted for six points. Kara Menke and Emily Troudt hit for five points each. Sydney Biltoft sank a free throw for a point. Biltoft picked off six rebounds. Menke climbed the boards for five rebounds. Sole and Mazour contributed three rebounds apiece. Troudt gathered up a rebound.

The Raiders play Giltner, at Giltner, Thursday.

Lawrence-Nelson travels to Mankato, Tuesday, for a game with Rock Hills.
