Blood Drive falls short of goal

January 18, 2023

Another disappointing blood drive!  Nelson had a full schedule filled with 62 donors, and then the blood mobile arrived last Monday morning, short-staffed again!

It’’s disappointing to have to cancel so many donors and even send some home after they made the trip to town. Local sponsors said they could have easily exceeded our goal, but were pleased to collect 42 units.

Those that have reached their personal goals are: Ramon Otero (7 gal.), Diane Gebers (5 gal.), Tina Kile (5 gal.), Tom Bargen (6 gal.)  and  Cindy Hewitt ( 6 gal.).

Other donors were: Wayne Petersen, Julie Worman, Chris Hansen, Dale Endorf, Ken Himmelberg, Brent Menke, Marlin Meyer, Jeff Hutchinson, Joe Mazour, Jerry Bargen, Jim Farmer, Craig Cox, Nick Elledge, Mary Statz, Haley Webber, Greg Stichka, Curt Carver, Don Kohmetscher, James Bailey, Ethan Feistner, Trish Honeycutt, Bruce Tinkman, Matt Colgrove, Lynn Culbertson, Peggy Meyer, Bev Cuba and Lyle Meyer.

Lawrence-Nelson School will host the next drive in Nelson in just eight weeks, on Wednesday, March 15.

The Nelson Rubies, under the supervision of DeeAnna Tuttle, served lunch to all of the donors.
