SHS wrestlers send five to state

State Wrestling Qualifiers who have trained as part of the Superior-Deshler High School cooperative program are (from left) Carlee Hinz, Holden McDonald, Hayden Neeman, Kyler Boyles and Cheyenne Stacy. In district competition Hayden Neeman won first place in 132 pound weight class; Cheyenne Stacy placed third place in 115 pound weight class; Holden McDonald, Deshler, placed fourth district in 120 pound weight class; Carlee Hinz, Deshler, placed fourth district in 135 pound weight class. State wrestling for this group will begin Thursday at CHI at 3 p.m. with classes B and C first round and quarter final matches.
The Superior High School boys and girls wrestling teams will be well represented at the state wrestling tournament at the CHI Health Center Arena, Omaha, today (Thursday), Friday and Saturday.
Cheyenne Stacy, 115 pounds, and Carlie Hinz, 135 pounds, are the girls team qualifiers.
Three boys qualified through their efforts at the C-2 qualifying tournament at Norfolk Catholic High School, Norfolk, Friday and Saturday.
The Wildcats finished in 11th place, with 65.5 points, in the 18 team field.
