Joseph "Joe" Patrick Sullivan, the son Eugene and Velma (Bailey) Sullivan was born on a farm Feb. 16, 1939, near Superior, Nebraska. He died February 17, 2023 at the CHI Health St. Francis Medical Center at Grand Island, Nebraska at the age of 84 years and one day.

He was baptized in the St. Joseph's Catholic Church of Superior where he was a lifelong member. In 1960, he was united in marriage to Nancy Harpham. To this union was born one daughter and four sons.
