Rock Hills football gets ready for the 2023 season

The Rock Hills Grizzlies open their 2023 season at the Clyde, Friday, Aug. 25.

The Grizzlies are members of the Northern Plains League in Division 1A.

Wyatt Flynn serves as head coach. His assistant coaches are Stuart Vance and Jarrett Christie.

The team looks to improve upon its 2022 2-7 record.

The team returns seven offensive and six defensive starters.

Flinn is looking to Cooper McDill, quarterback and defensive back, Nate Meyers, halfback and line backer, Mason McMains, center and nose guard, Aaron Sterling, quarterback and defensive back, Eli Vance, tight end, line backer and defensive end, Camden Ward, tight end and defensive back, Isaiah Ridgeway, half back and defensive back, and Aaron Underwood, guard and defensive end, to anchor the team.

He has Eli Whelchel, guard and defensive end, Nelson Underwood, center and nose guard, Whitley Frost, running back and defensive back and Justus White, tight end and defensive end, ready to step in and fill any voids.

Flinn observed that this year’s team had lots of varsity experience. He is pleased with the number of players on the team. He is looking forward to a successful season.
