L-N volleyball

It was a mixed bag for the Lawrence-Nelson volleyball team. The Raiders swept the Harvard Cardinals in two sets, 25-10 and 25-11 at Lawrence last Tuesday. The Kenesaw Blue Devils then swept the Raiders in two sets, 17-25 and 12-25.

The Raiders fell to the Shelton Bulldogs, Saturday, in three sets at Lawrence, 23-25, 14-25 and 18-25, at Lawrence.

Kara Menke led the Raider killers against Harvard with five. Sydney Biltoft contributed four kills. Josie Hajny added two kills. Hanna Skinner and Natalia Wehrman had one kill apiece.

It was an ace fest for Lawrence-Nelson as the Raiders picked up 22 points on ace serves. Biltoft sliced through nine aces. Jessica Sole smashed through six aces. Hadley Ostdiek claimed three saves. Addi McCloskey and Skinner accounted for two aces each.

Skinner found her way to six digs. Menke contributed four digs. Val Koehler and McCloskey donated three digs each. Sole and Hajny added two digs apiece.

Menke posted three kills against Kenesaw. Skinner and Wehrman added two kills each Biltoft and Hajny each registered a kill.

Biltoft, Koehler and McCloskey each scored with an ace.

McCloskey and Menke led the diggers with seven digs each. Skinner tapped in for six digs. Koehler found her way to four digs. Hajny and Sole were good for three digs each. Biltoft had two digs.

Statistics were unavailable at press time for the Shelton game.

The Raiders traveled to Hebron, Tuesday, for a triangular match with Thayer Central and Fillmore Central with match results unavailable at press time.

The Silver Lake Mustangs visit Lawrence today (Thursday) for a match. The Hastings St. Cecilia Tournament opens play Tuesday at Hastings.
