Rayne Biltoft qualifies for state golf

The Cinderella story continues for the Superior High School girls golf team. For the third consecutive year, Superior will be represented at the state championship match.

Superior did not field the minimum four golfers to qualify as a team. The three Superior golfers, Rayne Biltoft, Nadia McMeen and Lauren Tietjen were left with qualifying as individuals if they wanted to return to the state event. The Wildcats qualified the past two years as a team.

The district C 1 match was played over the Hidden Valley Golf Course in Lincoln Monday. The match was hosted by Lincoln Christian High School.

Rayne Biltoft earned a trip to the state match with her round of 92 and a seventh place medal. Lauren Tietjen, with her round of 104, and Nadia McMeen, with her round of 106, were just outside the qualifying score cutoff.

Biltoft will travel to North Platte, Monday, for her opening round of play at the Lake Maloney Golf Club. Her tee time is set for 10:30 a.m., Monday.

The state match is a 36-hole affair played Monday and Tuesday.

Biltoft, a junior, is making her third appearance at the state match.
