SHS wrestling at state championship

The Superior High School wrestling teams had three members compete at the state championship meet held at Omaha's CHI Center, Thursday through Saturday.

Holden McDonald earned six team points in the C126 pound weight bracket. He was eliminated in the third consolation round. He finished the season with a 46-11 record.

Kyler Boyles was awarded six team points for his efforts in the 175 pound weight bracket. He was also eliminated in the third consolation round. His season record was 45-13. The team score was good for 35th place in the 53 team field.

Carlee Hinz took home 17 team points in the girls 135 pound weight bracket with her fifth place finish. Her 17 points landed the Superior girls team a 42nd place finish in the 86 team field. Her season record was 33-6.

Both Hinz and McDonald are Deshler High School student athletes who wrestle with Superior as part of a co-operative program.
