SHS track at Sandy Creek Invite

The Superior High School boys and girls track and field teams competed at the Sandy Creek Invitational last Tuesday. The girls team finished in fifth place, with 51.5 points, in the field of Central City, Fairbury, Hastings St. Cecilia, Doniphan-Trumbull, Sandy Creek, Heartland and Sutton. The boys team finished in ninth place with four points. Lincoln Christian did not field a girls team.

Khloe Mundorf was in third place in the girls 100 meter dash with her time of 13.48 seconds. Ariana Heusinkvelt took fifth place with her time of 13.73 seconds. Sadie Cornell earned sixth place with her time of 13.87 seconds. Trinity Cordis, Thalia Griljava and Lauren Tietjen also competed.

Mundorf was sixth in the 200 meter dash with her time of 28.86 seconds. Madison Heusinkvelt was in eighth place with her time of 29.38 seconds. Jordan Duncan, Evah Roberts and Cordis also participated.

Olivia Smullins, Reagan Meyers, Ava Kirchhoff, Neveah Wilhelms and Faith Pedersen did not advance from the preliminary heats of the 400 meter dash.

Faith Butler finished eighth in the 800 meter run with the time of 2:48.82. Halle Bargen also competed.

Smullins and Maddi Bargen ran the 100 meter hurdles.

Cora Schnakenberg and Bargen competed in the 300 meter hurdles.

The 4 x 100 meter relay team of Bargen, Mundorf, M. Heusinkvelt and A. Heusinkvelt claimed second place with their time of 54.9 seconds.

M. Heusinkvelt took first place in the shot put with her toss of 39’5”. A. Heusinkvelt was in fifth place with her toss of 33’. Lilly Edwards, Roberts, Rayne Biltoft and Jaialynn Leuking also took part in the shot put.

Mia Gardner claimed third place in the discus with throw of 98’. M. Heusinkvelt was in fourth place with her throw of 97’7”. Meyers held seventh place with her throw of 92’8”. Leuking, Roberts and Griljava also competed in the discus throw.

Cayce Barry was in fifth place in the high jump with her height of 4’4”. Meyers and Schnakenberg tied for seventh place their jumps of 4’2”.

Butler secure third place points in the pole vault with her height of 8’. Duncan was in fifth place with her effort of 7’6”.

A. Heusinkvelt claimed fifth place in the long jump with her leap of 15’3” Cornell was in seventh place with her leap of 14’8”. Kirchhoff also competed.

Kirchhoff participated in the triple jump.

Dayne Clark, Pandu Mateus and Monte Arteaga did not advance from the 100 meter preliminary heats.

Mateus, Brayton Meyer, Arteaga, Dylan Edwards and Declan Miller did not advance from the preliminary heats of the 200 meter dash.

Lincoln Sander was in eighth place in the 400 meter dash with his time of 58.83 seconds. Mason Korb and Meyer also competed.

Benjamin Kramp was in eighth place in the 3200 meter run with his time of 14:03.03. Deylin Lawson also competed.

Thomas Mathis and Maddox Martin competed in the 300 meter hurdles.

The 4 x 100 meter relay team of Mateus, Clark, Mathis and Sander finished in sixth place with their time of 50.94 seconds.

The 4 x 800 meter relay team of Kramp, Zavala, Boyles and Sander finished eighth with a time of 10:26.61.

Boyles secured fifth place in the shot put with is 40’7” effort. Mathis, Christian Osweiler, Marcus Martin, Miller and David Hodges also competed in the shot put.

Clark finished eighth in the discus with his throw of 113’8”. Korb, Jaren Gilbert, Declan Miller, Osweiler and Hodges also competed.

Sander finished seventh in the long jump with a leap of 18’3”. Mateus, Meyer and Edwards also competed.

Mathis, Meyer and Edwards competed in the triple jump.

The Wildcats visit Deshler for the Del Wicks Invitational today (Thursday). Superior hosts the Superior Invitational at the Wildcat Community Track Tuesday.
