SHS golf

The Superior High School boys golf team competed at the Sandy Creek Invitational last Tuesday. The 18-hole event was played over the Crooked Creek course at Clay Center. Teams from Sutton, Doniphan-Trumbull, Sandy Creek, Exeter-Milligan, Lawrence-Nelson, Thayer Central, Red Cloud, Fillmore Central, Centennial, Blue Hill, High Plains Community and Heartland Lutheran were on the course. Superior finished in 13th place with 462 strokes.

Superior hosted the postponed Superior Invitational at the Superior Country Club Monday. Teams from Doniphan-Trumbull, Lawrence-Nelson, Heartland, Sutton, Fairbury, Deshler, Red Cloud, Fillmore Central, Sandy Creek, Bruning-Davenport-Shickley, Blue Hill, Thayer Central and Centennial took part. Superior finished in seventh place with 387 strokes for the 18-hole affair.

Colten Butler led Superior with his round of 90 at Sandy Creek. Carsyn Koening posted a round of 98. Ayron Grassman finished with a round of 110. Superior only fielded three players.

Carsyn Koening shot a round of 88 to lead the Wildcats at the Superior Invite. The round was good for the eighth place medal. Colten Butler recorded a round of 90 for 15th place and a medal. Cooper Ehlers carded a round of 103. Ayron Grassman listed a round of 108. Brayden Wulf closed with a round of 126. The four lowest individual scores comprise the team score.

Superior competed at the Blue Hill Invitational played at the Red Cloud Golf Course Tuesday. Match results were unavailable at press time.
