SHS golf

The Superior High School golf team competed at the Southern Nebraska Conference golf tournament Thursday. The match was hosted by Sutton High School and played over the Fox Hollow Golf Course.

Superior finished in 10th place, with 392 strokes, in the 10 team field of Sutton, David City, Thayer Central, Fairbury, Milford, Heartland, Sandy Creek, Fillmore Central and Centennial.

Colten Butler led Superior with his round of 82. He finished with the fourth place individual medal. Carsyn Koening carded a round of 96. Ayron Grassman finished with a round of 101. Cooper Ehlers was in with a round of 113. Brayden Wulf posted a round of 119. The four lowest individual scores comprise the team score.

Superior will look to qualify, as a team or as individuals, for the state tournament at the District C-4 match Tuesday. The match is hosted by Grand Island Central Catholic. It is being played over the Indianhead Golf Course at Grand Island.

Other teams looking to qualify are Arcadia-Loup City, Boone Central, Central City, Centura, Doniphan-Trumbull, Gibbon, Grand Island Central Catholic, Hastings St. Cecilia, Heartland, Minden, Ord, St. Paul, Twin River and Wood River.
