Raider girls finish third, boys fifth at Superior

The Lawrence-Nelson High School boys and girls track and field teams competed at the Superior Invitational at Superior last Tuesday.

The Raiders competed against teams from Hastings St. Cecilia, Superior, Sandy Creek, Thayer Central and Heartland Community. The Raiders girls finished in third place with 155 points. The boys were in fifth place with 72 points.

Elsa Jorgensen had a time of 14.3 seconds in the girls 100 meter dash. Brook Combs finished at 16.68 seconds.

Kara Menke was in fourth place in the 200 meter dash with her time of 20.39 seconds. Aleah Heikkinen posted a time of 30.47 seconds. Combs was timed at 35.27 seconds.

Menke nailed down second place in the 400 meter dash with her time of 1:05.8. Hanna Skinner had a time of 1:15.31. Addison McCloskey listed a time of 1:27.32.

Emily Troudt had a time 6:54.9 for a sixth place finish in the 1600 meter run.

Jessica Sole grabbed third place in the 3200 meter run with her time of 14:50.59.

Emma Epley returned a first place finish in the 100 meter hurdles with her time of 16:69 seconds. Sydney Biltoft was in third place with her time of 17.46 seconds.

Biltoft collected second place in the 300 meter hurdles with her time of 51.06 seconds.

The 4 x 100 meter relay team of Jorgensen, Epley, Menke and Heikkinen claimed fourth place with their time of 54.75 seconds.

The 4 x 400 meter relay team of Biltoft, Claire Himmelberg, Jorgensen and Menke landed in fourth place with their time of 4:32.99.

The 4 x 800 meter relay team of Troudt, Himmelberg, Skinner and Sole were in third place with their time of 11:58.71.

Kylie Beard was in fifth place in the shot put with a toss of 33’. Danyelle Church had a toss of 18’11.5”.

Beard finished in sixth place in the discus with her throw of 99’. Heikkinen had a throw of 78’11. Church had a best throw of 36’7”.

Biltoft had a sixth place finish in the high jump with her effort of 4’2”.

Epley was in third olace in the long jump with her leap of 15’11”. Jorgensen followed in fourth place with her leap of 15’4”. Skinner had a 12’ effort. Combs had a jump of 11’2.5.

Epley covered 32’11.5” for second place in the triple jump.

Erik Wheeland ran a 12.72 preliminary heat in the 100 meter dash. Rocky Miller finished with a time of 13.95 seconds. Roy Davidson had a time of 15.42 seconds. Sawyer Cox had a time of 30.43 seconds in the 200 meter dash.

Nolan Ostdiek earned second place points in the 800 meter run with his time of 2;14.99.

Logan Menke returned a first place finish in the 1600 meter run with his time of 4:53.09.

The 4 x100 meter relay team of Wheeland, Carter Griffis, Tyson Kotinek and Devyn Zikmund were in fifth place with their time of 50.12 seconds.

The 4 x 400 meter relay team of Wheeland, Ostdiek, Kotinek and Zikmund took fourth place with their time of 4:02.63.

The 4 x 800 meter relay team of Ostdiek, Zikmund, Kotinek and Menke resided in first place with their time of 9:16.38.

Keaton Mazour had a to 6.5” for the shot put. Cox had a best toss of 33’8.5”. Login Hoecker had a toss of 37’23’9”.

Wheeland had a throw of 114’5” in the discus. Mazour had a throw of 94’2”. Hoecker had a throw of 67’6”.

Zikmund had a leap of 17’.5” in the long jump.

Kotinek picked up fifth place in the triple jump covering 36’8”.

The Raiders head to Deshler, Saturday, for the Twin Valley conference meet. The event begins at 9 a.m.
