Men's Cow Chip Open Tournament results

 

The Lawrence Country Club was the setting Sunday, June 12, for the 62nd Annual Men's Cow Chip Open Tournament. Forty-nine golfers participated in the two-round open.

Comfortable conditions early quickly turned into a breezy and sultry second round for the men. Kelly Karmazin shot a total of 67 to claim victory with rounds of 34 and 33. He took home the first place trophy, Cow Chip plaque and bragging rights. Ed Karmazin followed close behind with a 68 to take second place in the championship flight. Medalist honors went to Greg Pohlmeier, who shot the lowest first round score of 33. He finished third overall in the championship flight with a two-round total of 70. Shane Faimon also shot a 70, but the tie-breaker bumped him to a fourth place finish.

First flight results: first place- Jerry Hoelting (71), second place- Dave Kohmetscher (74), third place-Dale Kohmetscher (75), and fourth place-Gary Buescher (76).

The winner of the 62nd Annual Cow Chip Open was Kelly Karmazin shooting rounds of 34 and 33 to top the field with a total of 67. Greg Pohlmeier (right), Lawrence Country Club officer, presented Karmazin with the first place trophy and Cow Chip plaque. Pohlmeier also took home some hardware as he claimed the medalist honors for shooting the lowest first round score of 33.

Second flight: first place-Scott Pallas (77), second place-Tim Kohmetscher (77), third place-Randy Kohmetscher (78), and fourth place-Keith Menke (79).

Third flight: first place-Marty Pallas (81), second place-Tate Mazour (83), third place-Keith Kohmetscher (85), and fourth place-Lonnie Mazour (87).

Fourth Flight: first place-Jeremy Hess (85), second place-Luke Muir (85), third place-Russ Reinsch (86), and fourth place-Carl Kohmetscher (87).

Fifth flight: first place-Garrett Hofstetter (93), second place-Gerald Buschkoetter (95), third place-Jack Hadenfeldt (99), and fourth place-Mike M (101).

Flag prizes awarded were: hole no. 1-closest to pin on second shot-Shane Faimon, hole no. 2-closest to pin on tee shot-Keith Kohmetscher, hole no. 3-longest drive in fairway-Kelly Karmazin, hole no. 4-longest putt on green-Randy Himmelberg, hole no. 5-closest to pin on third shot-Kelly Karmazin, hole no. 6-closest to pin on tee shot-Gary Buescher, hole no. 7-closest to Bud can on tee shot-Russ Reinsch, hole no. 8-longest putt on green-Phil Schroer, and hole no. 9-closest to pin on second shot-Phil Schroer.
