SHSvolleyball downs L-N to remain undefeated

The Superior Wildcats remain undefeated after three matches as they dismantled the Fillmore Central Panthers, in three sets, 25-19, 25-15 and 25-18, at Superior, last Tuesday, and sweeping the Lawrence-Nelson Raiders in three sets, 25-14, 25-16 and 25-23, at Nelson Thursday. Superior hosted a triangular meet with Kenesaw and Doniphan-Trumbull at the high school gymnasium Tuesday. Match results were unavailable at press time.

Fillmore Central posed no great challenge for the Wildcat as Superior dominated net play.

Superior wasted little time in exerting their dominance as they retained intra-county bragging rights over Lawrence-Nelson for another season.

Teegan Duncan crammed down 20 kills against Fillmore Central. Ella Gardner jammed down six kills. Halle Bargen nailed five kills. Lilly Edwards posted four kills. Atlee Kobza listed two kills. Brooklynn Grabast, Cayce Barry and Madison Heusinkvelt added a kill apiece.

Heusinkvelt threaded through five aces. Duncan squeezed through four aces. Bargen scored with two aces, Sadie Rempel, Kobza, and Gardner accounted for an ace apiece.

Bargen rounded up 15 digs. Duncan and Kobza went out with 12 digs each. Gardner lifted up eight digs. Grabast and Heusinkvelt had a dig each.

Duncan plowed down 11 kills. Heusinkvelt handled 10 kills. Bargen registered six kills. Edwards notched five kills. Gardner accounted for three kills. Grabast listed two kills and Kobza had one kill.

Bargen led the ace list with four. Heusinkvelt and Rempel scored with two aces each. Gardner and Kobza slid through and ace each.

Kobza hit the deck for 11 digs. Gardner had 10 digs. Bargen pushed up nine digs. Duncan collected six digs. Rempel claimed four digs. Heusinkvelt finished with a dig.

Superior hosts Bruning-Davenport-Shickley Today (Thursday) at the high school gymnasium. The Wildcats visit Sandy Creek Saturday for the Sandy Creek Invitational. Superior travels to Sutton Tuesday for a match with thee the Fillies.
