The Heartland Huskies mauled the Superior Wildcats 76-14, at Henderson Friday.

Nothing much went right on other the offensive or defensive side of the line for the Wildcats as Heartland seemingly scored early, often and at will. Henderson held a 24-7 lead after the first 12 minutes of play. Superior trailed 48-7 at the half. The second half was played under the 40 point mercy rule where play continues with a running clock. The clock is stopped only for time-outs or injuries. Despite this, the Huskies put up 14 points in the third quarter followed by 14 points in the fourth quarter. A fourth quarter Superior score softened the blow very little.

Kyler Boyles scored a touchdown with a 41 yard break away run in the first quarter. Cristian Avalos kicked the extra point. Boyles scuttled 40 yards for a score in the fourth quarter. Avalos added the extra point via a kick.

The Wildcats had no completed passes on three attempts. Boyles picked up 142 yards on the ground with his 18 carries. Humphries was limited by injuries to five carries for a negative 14 yards. James Love was at negative four yard for five carries. Tyler Everhart picked up seven yards with his two rushes. Jacob Meyer gained five yards with two carries. Avalos netted four yards with his two carries. Lincoln Sander and Aaron Allgood were at negative one yard on one carry each.

The Wildcats look for that elusive first win of the season when they host McCool Junction at Brodstone Memorial Field in a battle of winless teams. Kickoff is scheduled for 3 p.m.
