December 15, 2022

Dallas Fuller, Mitchell County, is one of Kansas Farm Bureau's Farm Family of the Year honorees. Each year a select number of families receive the Farm Family of the Year award for their service and leadership in agriculture, Farm Bureau and their communities. This year there were 10 families honored.

Dallas Fuller farms with his uncle, Jeff, on a 4,500-acre farm south of Beloit where they grow wheat, corn, soybeans and milo. Dallas lives on ground today that can be traced backed to the 1890s from when his great-great-grandfather moved to Kansas in the late 1880s.

Dallas has served as president of Mitchell County Farm Bureau for six years and volunteers in the community by helping serve meals with Kids Café, a free summer lunch program that feeds local school children. He has also participated in Mitchell County Farm Bureau's Kids Ag Day, a day on the farm for all 4th graders in the county. He understands the importance of connecting with locally elected leaders and has hosted legislative coffees along with public meetings on transition lines and county zoning issues.

At the state level, Dallas has served on the oil seeds ag advisory committee, attended the Leaders Engaged and Acting in DC (LEAD)s trip to Washington, D.C., participated in KFB's Day at the Statehouse and connected with elected officials on the importance of providing healthcare options through Kansas Farm Bureau Health Plans.

Dallas said his vision for Kansas Farm Bureau is to continue to be the voice of agriculture, to provide service to those in need and to advocate policy for the sustainable continuation of the family farm. He believes it is important consumers understand agriculture and what it provides the United States and the world.
