Amanda Womack

If you need insurance you might go into Farm Bureau to get it. While there you will probably be greeted by Mankato resident, Amanda Womack, an insurance sales associate.

Womack attended Mankato High School followed by Hutchinson Community College where she received general education courses. Womack worked in insurance in the past, but has been back in the insurance business for almost three years. In between her stints in insurance, she worked at a bank and at Pawnee Mental Health in Concordia.

Womack is licensed in property casualty, life and health insurances. She sells insurance, services policies and does anything else that needs to be done. She enjoys working in a small community because it allows her to know most of the insured customers on a personal level. This makes it easier to build good bonds with most of them. The parts she enjoys most about her job are the people and making sure they are taken care of.

Womack's has four children, ages 16, 15, 12 and 6. In addition to her children, Womack has two dogs. She has been with her boyfriend for three years. They met many years ago and then reconnected.

Womack chose to live in Mankato to be closer to her parents. She enjoys small town living which makes it a more positive place to raise her children. Womack had another reason to come back to Mankato. Her grandmother lives here so she gets to see her everyday.

When asked how COVID has affected her, Womack said, "It's an eye opener. It makes you realize what you've taken for granted and it makes you realize the value of family." COVID has also brought remote learning into play. "I'm thankful for a small school system," Womack said. "Teachers have done a good job helping the students through it and helping navigate through all the changes."

Womack is inspired by her children. "I just want my kids to be successful and good kind humans," Womack said. "Literally my whole world revolves around my kids."

She believes raising her children in Mankato was a great decision. "I like raising my kids in a small community. I appreciate having people looking out for my kids and being able to call someone in an instant and have community recognition."
