Oregon Trail Re-enactment Day was well attended

August 18, 2022

The numbers are still being calculated for the Oregon Trail Re-enactment Day at Oak. Four re-enactment tours were held. The Eubank presentation was a popular event. Gina Rhoads and Cindy Pierce (great-great granddaughters of Lucinda Eubank) organized and donated the PowerPoint presentation at the church for all in attendance to experience.

Landowners allowed the use of their land again to host the re-enactments. They are Gene (Elaine) Werner Family, Spencer/Molly Schoof and Darrell Johnson.

The crowd was excellent. The streets were full of people. Many questions were again asked after presentations, showing interest in the local history.

The newly moved library and renovated Heritage Rooms were a success. Those in attendence learned of many “new” stories about student experiences while they attended the Oak School which will be incorporated into the comments history.

Vendors spoke of a good crowd in spite of the heat.

The raffle and auction went splendidly. The youth enjoyed the bouncy house and Pedal Tractor pulls. In all was another successful event for Oak.
