City door locks need replaced

The Jewell City Council met last Monday at City Hall. Those in attendance were Darrell Bohnert, mayor, council members, Don Delzeit, Josh Burks, Gaye Daniels, Derek Birdsell, Bob Freeman, and Shelby Bohnert, interim city clerk.

Mayor Bohnert called the meeting to order. Mayor Bohnert and council members Burks, Delzeit and Freeman took the oath of office as newly elected officials.

Jerod McMillan provided the maintenance report. There are several opportunities for education and certification coming up in January that he plans to attend.

The land bank board provided a 2023 annual report and 2024 budget approval of the board. The current inventory held by the land bank includes the vacant lot of 320 Delaware, Jewell.

The TRF Loan was approved to be paid prior to the next meeting.

A building permit was submitted from Jon Hajny and approved.

It was discussed to seek bids to determine costs associated with upgrading the city office computer. Additionally, the city door locks are worn and need replacement.

The next meeting of the council will be held on Monday, Feb. 5.
