The January meeting of the Jewell County Council on aging was held at the senior center in Mankato on Jan. 18, not at Randall because of road conditions.

Dale Parks, Harlow Vader, Carol Thomason, Jane Pahls, Phyllis Briggs, Janis McDill, Bill and Barb Thomas were present at the meeting.

President Carol Thomason called the meeting to order with the flag salute.

Phyllis Briggs read the minutes from the last meeting and they were approved.

Harlow Vader gave the treasurer’s report which was accepted.

Carol gave the site manager’s report. She reported on the Christmas Party on Dec, 22. Thirty-six people came to the center for the meal and festivities after the meal. The kitchen served a total of 78 people, which included dine in, carry out and deliveries. She is planning on bingo on a Sunday late in March. Anyone wanting to donate food or craft items they have made for bingo prizes, may bring it to the center Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to noon.

The next Jewell County Council on Aging meeting will be at the senior center in Randall at 10 a.m. on Thursday, March 21.

The next Golden Years meeting will be in Mankato at 10 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 15.
