Darlene C. Hale, the daughter of Clifford R. and Faylisha (Hudson) Amack, was born on March 28, 1930, in Bostwick, Nebraska. She died Saturday, Feb. 24, 2024, at the Superior Good Samaritan Society Center at Superior, Nebraska, at the age of 93 years, 10 months, 27 days.

At an early age, Darlene moved to Superior with her family. She attended school in Superior and was a member of the First Baptist Church.

She took piano lessons as a child and became a talented piano player. She was pianist for the Baptist church for many years.

At the age of 15, she met and fell in love with Leslie Hale from Hardy, Nebraska. She wanted to get married but her parents would not let her marry until she was 16, so on her 16th birthday she married Les. They had four children. They were married 69 wonderful years before Les died.

She took porcelain classes and made many dolls which are now with her children and grandchildren.

Darlene had the talent of using her hands. She liked to knit, crochet and cross stitch. She liked going to stitch and chat every Wednesday at the First United Methodist Church where she was a member of long standing. She would meet with friends and work on various projects.

Darlene moved to the Victorian Legacy in September of 2023. On Feb. 8, 2024 she moved into the Good Samaritan Society Center in Superior because of declining health.

She is survived by her children, Robert and wife, Linda Hale, Claudia and husband, Dick Hanson, Barbara Hale, Craig and wife, Terri Hale; nine grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

Her funeral will be held at 11 a.m., on Friday, March 1, 2024, from the Megrue-Price Funeral Home in Superior with Pastor Bonnie Brock officiating.

Music will be congregational hymns "In The Garden" and "Old Rugged Cross" with Carlita Price as the accompanist.

Visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m., Thursday.

Pallbearers will be Lucas Bonner, Heidi Palmer, Angela Garver, Erin Lervold, Brett Garver and Jaden Hanson.

Interment will be in the Evergreen Cemetery at Superior.

Memorials are suggested to go to the Nuckolls County Food Pantry.
